Our Story

Ginny’s Dairy was recently formed with four main objectives: to introduce the wider public to the huge variety of delicious artisan cheeses made in the south of England, to support local farmers, to help invigorate town centres into thriving food hubs and, perhaps most importantly, because we love cheese!

We select only the best award winning local artisan cheeses from the very best suppliers. All our cheeses are made using the traditional slow, hands on methods and made with milk produced on the farms or locally sourced. Every cheese we stock is award winning.

The cheeses may be territorial, such as the world famous Montgomery Cheddar, or take their inspiration from Europe. Tunworth, a camembert style cheese from Hampshire, and Beenleigh a roquefort type cheese from Totnes, are two prime examples of English cheeses that have taken their inspiration from Europe and, perhaps, improved upon the originals.

We believe it is important to match the correct cheese to our customers. We ask how and when it is to be eaten and make suggestions on suitable cheeses for that occasion. At all the markets we attend every cheese can be sampled and we are always there to help and advise. Equally, we love to hear what our customers would like and endeavour to source appropriate cheeses to suit their tastes.

We also have other associated products that complement the cheeses. Award winning butter with salt flakes or pepper corns, delicious chutneys, and jellies as well as the best cheese biscuits carefully selected to enhance your cheese experience.
