Ginger Pig Pies

We are fortunate in being able to stock the famous Ginger Pig pies. These generous pies have their own cult following and top many “must eat” lists. The ethos of the company is livestock that is well looked after tastes better.

They are the ultimate comfort food. Handmade shortcrust pastry is used to create the chicken pies and suet pastry for the beef. These delicious pies have succulent slow cooked, chunky meat and rich sauces making them truly “proper”.

Beef and Ale Pie

The beef and ale pie is made with 39% beef and cooked in Guinness to develop the deep rich flavour. The meat is encased in rich suet pastry.

Beef and Ale Pie Ingredients

Beef 39%, beef stock, water, onions, Guinness (gluten from barley, alcohol), soy sauce (soya), cornflour, brown sugar, salt, black pepper

Pastry: Wheat flour (gluten), beef suet, water, salt, egg.

Chicken and Ham Pie

The chicken used to create this pie is only thigh and breast meat. The meat is wrapped in a short crust pasty and consists of 30% chicken and 5% ham.

Chicken thigh & breast (30%), chicken stock (water, chicken bones, vegetables (celery), salt), ham (5%), double cream (milk), unsalted butter (milk), wheat flour (gluten), fresh parsley, salt, white pepper.

Pastry: Wheat flour (gluten), pork lard, water, salt, egg.

Like the chicken and ham pie the chicken and leek pie is made with short crust pastry. The filling is 30% thigh and chicken breast meat with an added 10% leek giving it a distinct flavour.
